Dear readers,
After hearing the news that Kedarnath temple is off limits for next few years for public, I was wondering if the temple is at least accessible for priests etc to do nithya-puja. May be may be not. I did some research in the internet to see such news – couldn’t find any. This is the news I read about the current state – fromt this it appears that this place is not even reachable for anything….Till we find out more, I am wondering that as devotees of Lord Parameshwara, why don’t we all do our nithya neiveidhyam to Kedareshwar? We anyway do neivedhyam of maha-annam at home daily. Let us offer that to Him. It is not that He is at a situation that we need to feed Him – it is a bhavam of being thankful to His mercy and His blessings to us. I don’t think everyone is blessed to go there physically but this is an easier way to pray Him from home. It is the beauty and the power of our veda mantras that we can do avahanam of any murthi during our nithya puja and bagawan will be right there and you can offer anything to Him!
Om Nama Shivaya
Mahesh

shambho Mahadeva! Every day let us chant Om Nama Shivaaya and offer our daily food as Naivedyam to Lord Siva and take it as His Prasadam. May Lord Kedaranathar and Maha Periyava bless our efforts in rebuilding the destroyed structures quickly. Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!
By the Grace of Mahaperiyava, from the time I saw the Kedarnath’s Nandhi Dever in the NDTV, I am doing the Neiveidhyam from my house along with Mahaperiyava’s Padam. After reading your message, I am realising how mahaperiya is taking me in
the right direction. I have Mahaperiyava’s Padam and we are celebrating Anusham everymonth in Abu Dhabi. I never visited Kedarnath. By intuition only, i am doing this. However, thank you very much for informing everyone to avail this oppertunity to get Maha Dever and Nandhi Dever s’ blessings.

I have a Kedareshwarar picture in my House, which was taken from Varanasi and I offer Neivedhyam to that daily keeping in my mind the Kedareshwarar. at Kedarnath.

Maheshwaranukku Nithya Neivedyam panna sonnadhu Noble thought. It is all the more great that it has occured to our dear Mahesh. Thanks for sharing this thought Mahesh. God Bless you
Dear Mahesh ,do not consider your thought to be redundant at all i perceived it from a bhakta’s point of view how concerned u were in your feelings for LORD Shiva’s nivedyam i in fact with our thread of bhakti we can pull him to where we are and feed HIIM to our hearts content
Outstanding thought! Only the purest of the pure mind can think of feeding ‘the hungry” Lord Shiva – a similar thought never even remotely crossed my mind . Mahesh’s suggestion reflects the level what thinking about Sri Maha Periyava elevates one’s thoughts to – Har Har Mahadev!
Sir – I definitely don’t deserve all these words you said…..
An Interesting article:

Mr mahesh, your thought is not redundant one. it is a feeling of God shiva- without any naivedyam- when temple is in bad shape. (infact shiva went under the earth and bhima could get only the tail as per the story).. shiva there is already inside earth only…..
The priests that are privileged to worship Sri Kedaranathan hail from the Kannada-speaking Veerashaiva Lingayat community and are not Brahmanas. They have their own Matham and Acharya whose injunctions and instructions they are bound to follow. Hence, the words of Shankaracharya (Dwaraka or Puri or Kanchi or Sringeri) have little effect on them.
pls let us know the what should the name of the place for payable at column for making DD for the donation for badrinath temples .
did you check the temple site for any details? I simply cut and pasted the content from their site – dont have any additional info. sorry

Thanks for lot of pointers to articles – shows my ignorance in catching up with the details…So my post is probably a redundant one! Sorry folks….
The priest had removed an image of a deity kept in his home to Omkareswara temple so as to conduct nithya pooja according to HPI
Dear Mahesh, This temple is closed for 6 months every year and the utsava moorthy is taken to ukki mutt for Puja. This time also the pujari ( inspite of loosing some members of his family) moved the utsava moorthi ( knownas Boga moorthy) to Joshimutt, the very next day for continuing daily pooja.

It is a very good advise and direction. We can easily follow at this critical days.
I read in The Times of India about this. The bhog murti has been taken to its winter home… Please follow the link- http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Priest-takes-Kedar-idol-to-winter-home/articleshow/20771524.cms?intenttarget=no
Thanks!
kanchi mutt can depute five young pandits and ask uttaranchal govt to arrange for their accommadation and they can be asked to go by helicopter with one week food etc which will be sent by devotees every week helicopter cost and repeated trips can be met by donations from people like birla modi and rich devotees
fine thoughts….when our government can’t fly choppers to help people, how can the matam do it?
The shrines of both Kedarnath and Badrinath are open only for a few months every year, from Akshaya Tritiya (April-May) to the Tritiya following Deepavali (Oct-Nov). During the remaining months, the shrines are closed since there will be severe snowfall that cuts off access and human inhabitation is not possible. To account for the puja during these months when the main shrine is closed, the utsava murthi of Kedarnath is brought down to Ukhimath and Badrinath is taken to Pandukeshwar. This year, too, Kedarnath was brought to Ukhimath, where the pujas are being performed, as usual. Mention has to be made about a miracle that takes place in Badrinath during the closed time. Just before completely closing the sanctum in Oct-Nov, the akanda deepam is filled with ghee and the Lord is covered with a heap of flowers. When the shrine is opened six months later in April-May, the wonder is that the akanda deepam will still be burning and a fresh heap of flowers will be on the Lord. Crowds swell on Akshaya Tritiya at Badrinath to see this leela of Sri Badrinath.
Periyava charanam!
This is a wonderful suggestion Maheshji. We are blessed to be able to do Neivedyam to Kedareshwarar.
wonderful thought Mahesh! didnt strike at all that He will be without naivedyam for the period that Kedar is inaccessible.may be one was so overwhelmed by the aftermath of the fury. Mahaperiyava alone is making you think aloud. am sure many who are following this blog will now be doing this.Thank you
Dear mahesh,
Happy to note I am also thinking like you.
I have already started neivedyam to kedar from my house from next day of mishap. Infact I read in a paper the priest was mentioning how nithya pooja and offerings could be done there. Let all of us do prayers and offering to kedar bhagavan.
As I was there at both these places, just a month ago, I am sure the Govt and the news media are not divulging the true picture of Kedarnath damage and life loss. The Pundit is swinging with the Govt in removing the lingam and the Sankaracharya of Dwaraka who are in-charge of the temple, are opposing it, rightfully so….. I think. Lord Siva knows well. Har Har Mahadev!
