Did you read the cow slaughter message board at the Mahaperiyava Brindavan – horrible info – especially the part which says that Robert Clive built more than 300 slaughter houses all over India and killed approx 1 crore cows in 1 year.
I am blessed to visit Govindarpuram Thapovanam on April 29, 2013 on the way back from Alangudi Guru Bhagavan Temple, with my family. It is on the Mayavaram – kumbakonam – Mannarkudi Highway. Quiet atmosphere, Big hall at the entrance, gents should go inside without shirt, in the hall big pictures of various Gurus, Mahans and further inside a big square hall where Sri Bhodendral Adishtanam is situated. Am told that if one sit and pray there, can hear the chanting of Rama Nama. Around the Adishtanam various gurus Photos are wall mounted. On the first left turn, we can see a Big Photo of our Karunamurthy Periyava (“Kshemama Iru”) taken in Kancheepuram in 1975. I put my pocket size photo of periyava (“Kshemama Iru”) at the louts feet of periyava big photo and prayed to periyava. And then further there is another periyava photo, and on the right turn we can see the tiny room where Guru Padhuka is kept, can be seen through glass doors.
Next to the big hall, GoSala is situated, on its top one can see the list of all Acharyas with name and the year of peetam from Sri Adi Sankra Bhagavat Padal to our current acharyas. Next is a small book shop, various books on Periyavaa and others are available.
I read from the above notice, one can have a darshan of Adi shankara to Periyava at the same time at this place. It is a great blessing. Also not fortunate to have the darshan of Sri Mettur Swamigal there.

one must visit govindapuram taking this as a big opportunity as they will have the blessings of periava during jayanthi, hh mettur will be there and his darshan will be great blessing, bhodendragal sannidhi is there and that is yet another blessing, and then jkd’s goshala is one of the wonders where there are hundreds of cows being taken care of and the big pandhurripura temple – new addition – is there. generally food is available in plenty and staying may not be a problem. there is also wonderful coffee shop nearby. one will enjoy the stay there as blessings aplenty along with relaxation,cool calmness and rapturous bhajans are all there.
