With a great sadness, I regret to share the news that Sri Ponds Narayanan Mama passed away this morning. I talked to both Shri Shivaraman & Shri Ganesha Sharma to get more details. He was not suffering or hospitalized. He was as active as always – talked to so many of his friends until last night including both of them. He was planning to go to Sri Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari and spend 15 days of solitude in reading/listening to deivathin kural, thinking one and only about Mahaperiyava etc. He was planning to turn his phone off during those days to avoid distraction! He booked his train tickets and awaiting for EQ release for confirmation. However Periyava decided to confirm his reservation at His lotus feet on a Guru Poornima day!! What a great soul! Great devotees like him get such a peaceful and blessed departure.

I was in Madras two months ago and spent almost 2-3 hours with him.
Truly a great human being with unconditional love and affection towads everyone!!
I was blessed to have Mama\’s darshan during my visit to Chennai two months ago. Personally, I came across Mama as a very, very kind person, exuding lots of love and compassion. When I called him up to check his convenience to meet him, he spoke very softly and told me to come around 5 pm. Sometime later he himself called me and told me I could come at any time at my convenience. When I visited him and spoke to him, he was filled with bliss while speaking about Mahaperiyava. You could just feel that unsullied, unparallel, pure, unconditional devotion that he had towards Mahaperiyava. A very simple dwelling, the hall of his home was surrounded with pictures of Adhishtanams of the Kamakoti Guru Parampara. Also, he was so enthusiastic when he spoke and showed the mara uri that was used by Mahaperiyava. A Bhakta. A Mahatma. Mahaperiyava should ensure that HE keeps such devotees in our midst for more longer while, blessing them with Ayur Arogya Soukhyam.

On behalf of this reader group here, I offer our condolences to you and all at home. Mama is such a great soul that he enjoyed being part of the inner circle with Mahaperiyava. I am sure no family other than you is lucky enough to get shared all the wealthy experiences by him with Mahaperiyava.
I was planning to come and do namaskaram to him in my next India trip and looks like I am not blessed enough for that.

Unfortunate to lose such noble souls, but their fortune will take them to their ultimate wish – to the lotus feet of Mahaperiava. May be Mahaperiava felt that he has played his role and requires rest, and there are many other devotees in the que waiting to serve the nation. One thing is sure, this will never end, we will keep on hearing about Mahaperiava for generations to come. We need to keep this going, i would say that is the one and only good thing we can do to the future generations.
Pray His soul rest in peace at the LOTUS feet of Maha Periava. Rare to find such souls.
But for you we would not have come to know of such great people. Continue this great work so to enable us to know such great people who are indeed a big motivating factor to lead a humble life.
